——9/21 Terrence Volunteer Tian'ai Charity Event
Autism, also known as 'Kanner's syndrome,' is a global medical challenge and is referred to as the 'king of disabilities' and 'mental cancer.' It is estimated that there are currently more than 10 million people with autism in China, and their lives, education, and employment have become important issues of common social concern that need urgent solutions. Children with autism cannot be cured for life, but through scientific rehabilitation methods, they can be helped to actively integrate into society, become self-sufficient in adulthood, and reduce the burden on their families and society.
In order to support the development of rehabilitation for children with autism, on August 27, 2019, Terrence donated ten thousand yuan in cash to Changzhou Zhonglou District Tian'ai Children's Rehabilitation Center.
In addition, the caring volunteers of Terrence also took the initiative to launch a campaign, raising a total of 3,550 yuan in cash to purchase a batch of teaching aids suitable for the rehabilitation of children with autism, and sent representatives to deliver them to Tian Ai.
On the afternoon of September 21, 2019, the Terrence volunteer team, together with the lovely 'Second Generation Special' kids, went to the Tian'ai Rehabilitation Center to spend a pleasant weekend with the children with autism there.
They make crafts together with the children from Tian'ai, experience African drums together, and play games hand in hand.
During the brief time together, our volunteers quickly realized the difficulties faced by children with autism and special education teachers. Actions that normal children can learn in one or two tries require hundreds or even thousands of repetitions for these special children, and for these children, teachers need to show great tolerance and patience.
Finally, Teacher Zheng from the Tian'ai Center educated everyone on knowledge related to autism, allowing us to have a deeper understanding and comprehension of this special group.
A brief public welfare activity allowed everyone to better understand the meaning of the word 'love.' It is hoped that the whole society can pay more attention to and have a better understanding of the group with autism. Volunteers from Terrence and Terrence will also continue to move forward on the path of public welfare.
