The metering system is a skid-mounted metering system (device) used for trade handover within long-distance natural gas pipeline distribution stations, integrating functions such as filtration, metering, gas component analysis, flow comparison, online calibration, system venting, and automatic switching. According to different working conditions and requirements, it is divided into turbine metering systems, ultrasonic metering systems, mass metering systems, and orifice metering systems, among others.
The metering system is generally composed of several subsystems, including the filtration system, metering system, flow comparison system, gas chromatography analysis system, online calibration system, venting system, and gas leak alarm system. Compliant straight pipe sections are used, and a flow computer is matched for gas temperature and pressure compensation to facilitate flow calculation, with gas composition signals detected by an online gas chromatograph. Flow comparison involves connecting two or more flow meters in series for comparison purposes. The online calibration system, according to process requirements, reserves an online calibration port on the system. The venting system is generally designed for centralized venting. The gas leak alarm system can be interlocked with the main valve and venting system, so that in the event of a leak hazard on site, the station control system shuts the main valve and opens the venting system for emergency venting.
The system has very high requirements for the flow meter, straight pipe sections, gas analyzers, and rectifiers. The shut-off valves before and after the flow meter are very important and are required to have zero leakage. At the same time, the technical level of the manufacturer and the installation accuracy directly affect the accuracy of the metering system. The above principles are the most basic requirements to ensure the accuracy of the system measurement.
